Sha Po Lang or SPL is one of the best action films this decade. It is the best work of Donnie Yen so far. Not as famous as Jackie Chan and Jet Li, Donnie Yen is an action star with comparable charisma and talent. If you really want to watch a real action film, I recommend SPL.

This is a collection of 30 movie scenes from action and adventure, sci-fi, sports, war and crime films that made men break a tear or two… or more. I know there are a lot of movie scenes so to create a list, I used a sample group that is representative of a bigger whole. My sample group comprises my buddies and I. We’re in our late 30s and have diverse personalities. From us, I was able to extract 30 memorable movie scenes that made us emotional.

The Shinsei series spans from 1999 to 2004 and has six movies. The ranking follows the six criteria for a great kaiju film as enumerated by the writer, and the article is meant as a tribute to the kaiju film genre and Godzilla, the world’s most favourite kaiju.
